About News

The 'News' section of IonPartner Portal is to create and publish news related to IonPartners. The administrator would create a role based users who can create news articles. Any LDAP user would be able to comment on the news articles published after authentication.

The home page of IonPartner Portal collectively displays all the 'Latest News Articles' on the left section of the page. Users can access news from home pahe or from the News link from the top menu links.

News Creation

STEP ONE: If logged in as administrator, a 'Admin' link will appear on top above the menu which leads to admin page. The screen would be displayed as shown below.

STEP TWO: In admin page you can navigate to create content by selecting create content link under lift block. The screen would be displayed as below:

STEP THREE: In create content page you can navigate to create news by selecting 'User News' link. The screen would be as shown below:

STEP FOUR: The screen shot below shows the form for creating news article.

Following are the short descriptions of the fields in the above form.

Title: Title of the new article

Body: Content of the news article

Thus a news article is created.

Publishing News Article:

Administrator and Role based users (ionpartners and ionexecutives) will be able to create news articles.Administrator who is the moderator for news, logs in and publishes the news article.

Editing News Article:

1. Login as Admin.
2. Click on the News Item. Two tabs "View" and "Edit". Click on the  "Edit" tab and start editing. After updating click on the Save button. Thus the news get edited.

Deleting News Article:

1. Login as Admin
2. To delete the news article there are two methods
   1. Method 1: Click on the news article which is published and we can see two tabs namely "View" and "Edit". Click on the "Edit" button and scroll down to find the "'Delete" button.Click on the 'Delete' button and delete the news article.
   2. Method 2: Click on the Administration page and Click on "Content" link under the menu item "Content Management". Use the 'Filter' option and select the 'Type' as 'User News' as the filter and click on the Filter button. All the News articles would be listed. Select any news article and click on the edit button. Scroll down to find the "'Delete" button.Click on the 'Delete' button and delete the news article. 

Comments on News Articles:

Any LDAP user can view published news article and submit comments on them.
